What's your name:
Bendik

What's your age:
I'm 19, and I know you guys rarely recruit people under age of 21, but I hope this won’t affect my application. I can ensure you I am worth the two years:P
Where do you live:
Tromsø, Norway.

Character's name:
Sorx.

Please provide an armory link and wow heroes link for the character you are applying with:
Armory link http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Bronze+Dragonflight&cn=Sorx
Wow heroes: http://wow-heroes.com/index.php?zone=eu&server=Bronze Dragonflight&name=sorx
Gear is a bit lack, but I’m working on it.

What class is the character with which you are applying:
 Paladin.

What is your character's normal raiding spec:
Retribution.

Do you have Dual Talent Specialization? If yes, what is your secondary spec and do you have the gear to support this spec in raid content:
I got double ret spec, one for pve and one for pvp, but I got prot gear, but it is pretty low. Haven’t really putted in any effort on the prot gear.

Why did you choose your current class, and what do you feel your role is in a raid:
I chose the paladin because I like the lore of the whole class, and I personally feel it's quite epic.
My role in raid is first of all to bring supreme dps as a retribution paladin, not to mention paladin buffs. I also bring a raid support of replenishment, 3% raidwide haste/dmg, and a 3% extra crit on my judgement targets. The judgement i bring is also very helpfull for the raid as it restores 2% mana or health to the attackers.

Can you please describe your rotation for fights:

The retpaladin is not too much about rotation, but about priority of spells. Seeing as we use the "FCFS" system (First Come First Serve) all we go about is priority of spells. We often got 2 or more spells off cooldown at the same time and need to know which one to use, therefore, we prioritize our spells after what does the most dmg.
Our spell priority goes like this:
Judgement > Divine Storm > Crusader Strike > Hammer of Wrath (-20%) > Concecration > Exorcism > Holy Wrath (Undead)
Allthough, obviously starting with a Crusader Strike to build a stack of Seal of Vengeance and a stack of Libram of Three Truths (+44 str) seems to be a starting dps increase. Cooldowns are blown when off cooldown and target has a 5 stack amount of
Seal of Vengeance.

Please explain your gem and glyph choices:
As retribution, gemming strength and crit gives the highest dps. Red sockets are ALWAYS 20/34 Strength, and yellow sockets rewarding 4str, 6 agil or 6 crit (or more) are gemmed with +10 Strength, +10 Crit. I have chosen the 21 agil 3% crit dmg meta over the 21 crit, simply because then I can gem 1 less blue socket, giving me 10 more strength.
x1 +10 all stats gem is enough to fill up every requirement for the metagem, and since it fits every socket, I put it in the blue socket that gives me the most strength.
Glyphing:
I simply glyph Seal of Vengeance because I am not expertise capped. If I get expertise capped, this glyph will be switched with Glyph of Exorcism.
Glyph of Judgement is a must for every retpaladin, and gives the highest dps increase of all the glyphs (Unless you're insanely under expertise )
Glyph of Consecration is a better manasaving method, obviously better than Glyph of Exorcism, as It lasts a couple of seconds longer, since it's got a low priority on the spell list I get more time to use other higher priority spells while it ticks.

In JIW we raid 3 nights from 8.00 to 11.00 GMT, we require raiders to attend at least 2 of the 3 raids per week barring exceptional circumstances. Explain how this fits in with your play times: No problem at all, and I will show up with the consumables needed to maximize my dps.

Would you be prepared to respec for raids:
Ye sure, but I think it's for the best of everyone that I don't

Are you prepared to sit out of raids when you are not needed:
ofc.

Do you use ventrilo:
Yes.

Please tell us about your previous guild history, which guilds you have been in and why you left them: joined Void Zone as a casual social rank, cause I had a friend who got me an invite. Stayed there for a while but didn't really raid anything else than pugs/alt runs and stuff. Now I left them about 2 months ago, although my druid is still there on social terms. I left them cause my friend left, and I didn't get to raid with them as social. My friend who got me in also plays ret, even though I don't have years of paladin experience, he taught me everything he knew!

What are you looking for in a guild, and why do you want to join JIW:
I'm looking for a raid guild with proper progress and process, where I can raid properly! Also, I'm looking for a group of nice folks that I can interact with outside of raids aswell, and I really think JIW is the right choice.

Do you know anyone who is already in the guild that can vouch for you:
raided and talked a bit with valron(not sure who his main is). Seems like a really nice guy, I think he will vouch for me.

How do you respond to criticism and are you the kind of person who learns quickly from their mistakes: Criticism is a really good way to learn. I am a quick learner, and won’t do the same mistake twice.

Please tell us about your previous raiding experience. Give as much information as you can:
Done a lot of all the old lvl 60 and 70 stuff as lvl 80. I started playing the game in WOTLK and learned quickly Today, my ICC experience is 11/12 on 10man and 4/12 on 25 man. I've suffered a lot of computer problems lately, due to playing on a laptop. Shit always overheated : <(got a pro comp now, so won’t have any overheats/dcs

What raid addons do you use and why:
first of all, Deadly Boss Mods, a must for every raider!
Gives me info on what the bosses, or adds do, how long until they do it, and if I need to run away or watch out for it  Helps a lot on raiding!
Omen, to not overaggro! A perfect threatmeter!
And of course my unitframes. X-pearl. Gives me a perfect overview of the raid, my party, all kind of debuffs, and not to mention my own health! It also displays in pretty colors.
using recount aswell, but can't call it a "raid" addon.

What consumables do you use in raids:
Flask of endless rage and Dragonfin filet (str food).

Can you link any screenshots, or wws reports etc that may help you in your application:
No sorry.

What can you offer us and why should we recruit you:
I offer exceptional dps, experience of my class and the game. I’m always 120% focused.

Have you read and agreed to the guild charter:
yes.

Application Availability Info: - Remember we raid 8pm to 11pm UK time

Monday – Always
Tuesday – 3x a month
Wednesday - Always
Thursday - Always

Lastly, please state if you wish your application to remain private or open.
Open.

Some issues with this app.

Toon is not hitcapped, but has AP enchants on both boots and gloves.  Switching either for a +hit enchant will fix this.

PVP items, and lack of 4pc T10-251 indicate a recently minted toon.  This is confirmed by complete lack of 25-man experience in TOC and Ulduar, and 10-man experience only for weeklies.

PVE spec includes PVP talents (Divine Purpose, Unyielding Faith).  Converting to 11/5/55 would improve utility.

Yellow sockets are gemmed with 20 Str unless they give a 6 Strength bonus per socket - 4 Strength was when using 2pc T9.  (NB: I know I use a 10 Str 10 haste in my ring for +4 Str, but that's only because the value of haste rises when pairing TAiaJ and Shadowmourne.)

Thanks for the replyes.
I changed the enchent on hands, i'm now hit capped aslong as i got a Draenei in raid/group.

And mate, when it comes to the gemming i can redirect you to any top rpaladins on the realm, they all gem the same way as i do, even elitist jerks will tell you that my gemming is correct:P

Sorx.

I find this a bizarre statement. How can a website give you a definitive gemming guide. E.g. Fury warriors are told to gem ArP until capped then stack strength. Yet, I have 4 Expertise gems because I lack expertise with my current set up. As far as I'm concerned I'm right. In fact I know I'm right and it comes from the ability of knowing your class, your gear and thinking for yourself.

Ej and such websites will be right where min/maxing is concerned. However, when your gear is lacking certain stats, what Alex has said is correct. i.e. If your gear is lacking hit, you wouldn't continue to gem str since hit would be a more valuable stat until capped.

Anyhow, personally think it's going to be a huge step up progression wise and not sure your gear is upto the standard we'd require, but it's not my decision to make, so GL with the app.

In terms of raw numbers 14 Str and 10 crit is worth a fixed 2 DPS more than 20 Str.  However, that doesn't allow for Exorcism always critting against Undead mobs.  In ICC, where everything worth swinging at is Undead, that alters the values to make the difference less than 1 DPS over a normal fight duration.

Lo m8,

Ok here is what to do. Can you whisper one of our members, who will direct you to an officer and we will give you an invite to the guild.

What I then need you to do is register for an account on our website. Please register in your main's name. Once you have done this can you then register on our "Raid Calendar" and set-up your character, and then put down your availability for all posted raid dates.

What we will do then, over the next 2 weeks, is look to get you involved in a few 10 man,  25 man runs and see how we find you, and likewise how you find us. At the end of this period we will then let you know of our decision.

Please be aware that your trial can be closed off at any time during this period.
